Job summary

Mercury Systems seeks a Principal Contracts Manager in California to join the IPS contracts team. You will oversee complex DoD contracts, review RFPs, draft and negotiate agreements, and ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS while coordinating with legal, finance, and program teams to meet deadlines.

Requires a bachelor’s degree, 6+ years in government contracting, strong analytical and negotiation skills, MS Office/Adobe Acrobat proficiency, and ability to obtain a U.S. secret clearance. Travel <10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of related experience in Contract Administration/Business Management/Finance with US Government defense or prime contractors.
• Experience with US Government, Prime and Commercial contracts.
• Experience with US Government weighted guidelines profit.
• Experience with defense contract types (CR, CPFF, CPIF, FFP, T&M, IDIQ, SBIR) and all contracting phases.
• Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS, especially Part 12 and Part 15.
• Strong analytical, financial and negotiation skills; attention to detail.
• Full understanding of Contracts lifecycle from RFP to Closeout.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to obtain a US Government Secret clearance; US Citizenship required.
• Travel: <10%

Responsibilities

• Manage program contracts supporting the IPS Business Unit.
• Review complex solicitations/RFPs and prepare specialized/non-routine proposal responses with the proposal team; review and approve contractual documents for compliance.
• Draft and negotiate master and other agreements to protect company interests.
• Develop negotiation strategies aligned with business goals.
• Advise management on contractual rights, IP protections, data rights, and risks.
• Maintain deadlines and input contract data into databases.
• Analyze and track contract compliance with other functions.
• Interface with Government contracting officials and internal teams.
