Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a Principal Contracts Manager to lead complex contracts within the IPS Business Unit in Chantilly, VA. You will handle solicitations, negotiate master agreements, ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, and coordinate with legal, finance, and engineering teams to protect the company interests.

You will interface with Government officials and prime contractors, manage contract data, and advise on risk and data rights.

Qualifications

• Six+ years in contract administration or business management for US government defense.
• Experience with US Government, Prime and Commercial contracts.
• Experience with US Government weighted guidelines profit.
• Experience with defense contract types: CR, CPFF, CPIF, FFP, T&M, IDIQ, SBIR, etc.
• Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS; Part 12 and Part 15 contracting.
• Strong analytical, financial and negotiation skills; attention to detail.
• Understanding of Contracts lifecycle from RFP to Closeout.
• Ability to obtain a US government Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required.
• Travel: as required, estimated less than 10%

Responsibilities

• Manage program contracts supporting the IPS Business Unit.
• Review solicitations/RFPs and prepare specialized responses with the proposal team.
• Draft/review and negotiate master agreements to protect company interests.
• Develop and recommend negotiation strategies aligned with business goals.
• Advise management on contractual rights, IP protections, data rights, and risks.
• Maintain deadlines and enter contract data into databases as required.
• Analyze and track contract compliance with other functions.
• Interface with Government officials, prime contractors, and customer representatives.
• Collaborate with Contracts, Legal, Program Management, Finance, Pricing, and other teams.
