Job summary

Flexential is seeking a Vice President of Construction to serve as the on-the-ground oversight for project controls, cost tracking, and schedule integration across multiple live builds. You will defend budgets, validate changes, and provide portfolio-wide financial visibility through robust reporting frameworks.

The role requires 5–8 years in project controls or construction accounting, with data center or heavy industrial project experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 5–8 years on project controls, cost engineering, or construction accounting in heavy industrial or utility-scale projects.
• 2–3 years on mission-critical or data center construction projects with heavy MEP cost understanding.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain project controls reporting frameworks and cost-tracking standards for portfolio visibility.
• Maintain active site sub-ledgers and execute daily cost-code accounting using MasterFormat/Uniformat.
• Review monthly progress billings and pay apps against on-site work-in-place verification.
• Audit lien waivers to eliminate risks; monitor OFE milestones and budgets for retrofit projects.
• Lead change order defense, verify quantities against baselines, and perform rapid takeoffs for field variations.
• Provide weekly financial health updates and contingency drawdown status to leadership.
