Job summary

Flexential is seeking a senior leader to serve as VP of Construction on multiple campus-scale projects in the US. You will govern daily project financial controls, track variances, validate changes, and integrate schedules with cost reporting.

The role requires field verification, cross-project budgeting, and proactive risk management to protect the portfolio’s financial health. You will drive standardized reporting, coordinate with contractors and internal teams, and advise on contingency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (construction/finance/engineering/accounting).
• 5–8 years in project controls, cost engineering, or construction accounting on heavy industrial projects.
• 2–3 years on mission-critical or data center construction with heavy MEP cost profiles.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain project controls reporting frameworks and performance metrics.
• Maintain site sub-ledgers and cost-code accounting using MasterFormat/Uniformat.
• Process monthly progress billings and pay apps, cross-checking against on-site work.
• Audit lien waivers from sub-tier trades to mitigate risks.
• Monitor OFE milestones, taxes, and cash flow for field items.
• Isolate budgets for large retrofit builds to avoid cost blending.
• Defend change orders and verify contractor quantities against baselines.
• Provide quick quantity takeoffs for field variations with contractors.
• Flag cost overruns via early warning indicators on productivity and waste.
