Job summary

Athene is seeking a VP Sales, Defined Contribution to lead retirement plan sales across Apollo DC private assets and Vitera guaranteed income in a national territory. You will drive advisor engagement, manage a major sales plan, and work with recordkeepers to grow local adoption.

The role requires 10+ years in retirement plan sales, established advisor relationships, and in-depth ERISA/defined contribution knowledge. A Series 6/63 or 7 and a bachelor’s degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in retirement plan sales with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
• Established relationships with retirement plan advisors, recordkeeper field teams, and defined contribution practices.
• Knowledge of the defined contribution market and ERISA fundamentals; ability to develop the other capability (private assets or guaranteed income).
• Strong presentation skills and sound judgment; FINRA Series 6 and 63 or Series 7 required.
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Own annual territory sales targets across the Apollo and Vitera defined contribution offerings.
• Build relationships with retirement plan advisors and recordkeeper field teams, converting partnerships and platform approvals into local adoption.
• Develop and execute a territory plan with priority advisors, a consistent activity cadence, pipeline milestones, and measurable sales outcomes.
• Lead advisor education, field events, and finalist presentations; bring in product specialists for depth while retaining ownership of the relationship.
• Partner with Apollo’s Global Wealth field counterparts to align coverage and share market insights.
• Coordinate with recordkeeper partners on joint meetings, campaigns, and opportunities.
• Use CRM data, market intelligence, and AI tools to refine targeting and maintain pipeline discipline.
