Job summary

bp is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer for DBaaS to help realize the product vision and deliver scalable database solutions. You will architect and implement capabilities for relational and NoSQL engines across cloud and on‑prem environments, guiding engineers and operations teams globally.

You will contribute to blueprints, deployment tooling, monitoring, and performance improvements, while upholding security and compliance considerations for database product lines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of database and system level tuning.
• Knowledge of fault tolerance, load balancing, and disaster recovery for database products.
• Knowledge of T-SQL, PL/SQL, triggers and stored procedure tuning.

Responsibilities

• Ensure seamless integration of services underpinning a database product.
• Define database product blueprints for on‑premise and cloud deployments.
• Develop and maintain technical product characteristics (scaling, monitoring, fault tolerance).
• Maintain tooling for deployment, monitoring, and configuration management.
• Collaborate with DB engineers to meet functional and non‑functional requirements.
• Develop standards and processes for operational support and handover to Operations.
• Drive automation and continual improvement to reduce incidents.
