Job summary

Boston Consulting Group in the United States seeks a Principal Database Platform Engineer to own cloud-native database platforms on AWS, focusing on scale, reliability, automation, and establishing platform standards used by engineering teams across the firm.

You will lead design decisions, mentor engineers, and partner with architecture, data, and application teams to translate needs into reusable solutions, while advancing AI-enabled database infrastructure as the firm evolves.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in database, platform, or infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and AWS-managed database services in production.
• Experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate cloud-native database platforms on AWS with a focus on scalability and cost efficiency.
• Build automated, self-service capabilities using Infrastructure as Code and Git-based workflows.
• Define reusable platform patterns and guardrails across a multi-cloud environment.
• Lead design reviews and mentor engineers while aligning with enterprise standards.
