Job summary

QBE North America is seeking a seasoned Database & DevOps Engineer to align global architecture with business requirements. You will shape the technology roadmap with the Architecture team, evaluate database technologies, and standardize monitoring, backups, and deployment tools.

In this role, you will own DB lifecycle from design to delivery, ensure security and compliance, and collaborate with global teams to drive DR, HA, and cloud initiatives using Azure/AWS.

Qualifications

Hands-on database design and architecture experience.
Backup and recovery experience.
High availability and disaster recovery using Always On, Clustering, Replication, Mirroring, and Log Shipping.
Deep knowledge of database internals.
Cloud computing with Azure/AWS experience.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with peers and Architecture to define a strategic technology roadmap.
Evaluate database technologies and implement solutions and roadmaps.
Standardize tools for monitoring, alerting, and backups.
Create processes for the DB Operations team for real-time validation and assurance.
Manage DB license compliance and procurement information.
