Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related IT field; engineering/math/science acceptable as substitutes
• 15+ years of relevant experience in database management
• Experience with Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server in enterprise environments
• Experience with on-premise, AWS EC2/RDS, and related cloud services
• Experience in Microsoft server environments and Database Lifecycle Management (DLM)
• Experience in data scrubbing, masking, comparison and review; improving authentication robustness
• AWS and/or Azure cloud experience; relevant certifications preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Suitability/Public Trust clearance

Responsibilities

• Provide database administration for Oracle standalone and Oracle RAC on Linux/SunSolaris
• Install, configure, and maintain database applications with patches and updates
• Manage database security, permissions, and user access
• Develop and maintain database objects (tables, views, indexes)
• Monitor and optimize database performance and tuning
• Manage backup strategies and restore procedures
• Provide customer support to DB and application development teams
• Maintain Database Lifecycle Management processes per client specs
• Assess impact of changes to applications and database structures
• Provide schedules and resource estimates for proposed changes
• Provide sizing recommendations for new or existing databases
• Participate in meetings with Solution Delivery Service and stakeholders
• Collaborate with other DBAs to optimize clusters, replication, backups
