Job summary

CoverMyMeds is seeking a Lead Database Engineer to act as the technical authority for enterprise PostgreSQL and SQL Server platforms across on-premises and Microsoft Azure environments. You will drive strategy, architecture, reliability, automation, and lifecycle management of critical database services in collaboration with security, SRE, and platform teams.

The role requires 10+ years in database engineering with strong Azure, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server experience, plus leadership capabilities

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent and 10+ years in database administration, engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in senior/lead/architect role supporting production databases.
• 5+ years designing and operating databases in cloud environments, with Azure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own design, implementation, operation, and evolution of PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Azure PostgreSQL environments.
• Lead migration initiatives, validation, cutover planning, and post-migration stabilization.
• Establish standards, runbooks, governance, and roadmaps for scalable database platforms.
