Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, IT, or related field.
• 0–3 years of hands-on database administration experience.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Foundational understanding of normalization, indexing, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with database security, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery concepts.
• Active SECRET clearance and ability to maintain clearance.
• Security+ or DoD IAT-II certification.
• U.S. citizenship and willingness to travel <10%.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day administration of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Monitor database health and performance, identify bottlenecks.
• Execute and validate backups, restore jobs, and DR testing.
• Implement security controls such as provisioning, RBAC, and auditing.
• Participate in installation, patching, minor upgrades across environments.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and support database changes for releases.
• Apply normalization, indexing, and query plan knowledge to optimize SQL.
• Maintain documentation for configurations, SOPs, and change records.
