Job summary

STOPSO in Orlando, FL seeks a Senior Database Administrator to manage on-premises SQL Server and MariaDB in a hybrid enclave while migrating workloads to Azure Government. The role emphasizes production database administration, backups, performance tuning, and security across Windows and Linux environments.

The candidate will handle on-call rotations, change management, and documentation, with additional cloud-migration support as needed.

Qualifications

• Five or more years experience administering production SQL Server databases.
• Hands-on experience administering MariaDB/MySQL via Linux command line (SSH).
• Experience with PowerShell and Windows Server environments supporting SQL Server databases.
• Experience developing admin automation scripts using PowerShell, T-SQL, and Bash.
• DoD 8140/8570 IAT II baseline certification or ability to obtain within contract timeframe.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance or ability to meet contract requirements.
• Strong understanding of change management procedures and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Administer production SQL Server databases using SSMS, including backup/recovery, performance tuning, maintenance, security, and patch coordination.
• Administer MariaDB databases on RHEL 9.8 servers via SSH, including backups, health monitoring, user management, and log analysis.
• Maintain database inventories and documentation of configurations, backup schedules, and recovery procedures.
• Follow change management procedures and document actions per policies.
• Support incident response for database issues and participate in on-call rotation if applicable.
• Maintain legacy databases during hybrid enclave period, including decommissioning and archival activities.
