Job summary

Windward Risk Managers seeks a Senior Database Administrator to own SQL Server and Azure SQL environments across on-prem and cloud. You’ll implement high-availability, disaster-recovery, backup strategies, and optimize performance.

This in-person Boca Raton role requires expert skills in T-SQL, PowerShell, and security, with collaboration across infrastructure teams. You will drive capacity planning, enforce best practices, and ensure recoverability through testing, while aligning with business

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of database administration in hybrid cloud/on-prem environments.
• Hands-on design and management of SQL Server HA configurations (Always On, clusters).
• Admin experience with Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance (provisioning, access control, storage).
• Strong backup, DR concepts, replication, log shipping, PITR, and DR testing.
• Performance tuning: queries, indexing, execution plans, capacity planning.
• PowerShell and T-SQL scripting; Windows Server and storage knowledge.
• Clear communication and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer SQL Server and Azure SQL/MI across on-prem and Azure.
• Design and maintain high-availability and DR architectures.
• Own backup strategy, PITR, immutability, and DR testing.
• Monitor, tune, and optimize performance; manage capacity and growth.
• Ensure security, RBAC, encryption, and least privilege.
• Automate tasks with PowerShell and document runbooks.
• Act as SME for database administration and recovery operations.
