Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services is seeking a highly skilled SQL Server Database Administrator to design, implement, and manage large-scale database environments. You will ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization across On-Prem and Azure SQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB ecosystems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with database technologies including Microsoft SQL Server, Azure, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Proficiency in Backup and Recovery, SQL query optimization, data warehousing concepts, and performance tuning.
• Ability to analyze SQL Server performance metrics and optimization of queries, indexes, and execution plans.
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery using Always-On AG and WSFC.
• Familiarity with cloud and on-prem environments, including Azure, AWS, and GCP.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure SQL Server instances in cluster environments and manage Always-On AG for critical databases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cluster issues, WSFC, failover modes, and read-only replicas for HA/DR.
• Monitor and optimize performance, run housekeeping jobs, and provide tuning recommendations.
• Develop and maintain T-SQL and PowerShell scripts; collaborate with developers, admins, and network teams.
• Manage schemas, databases, objects, security, backups, and recovery per Change Management.
• Support On-Prem and Azure SQL environments and NoSQL databases like MongoDB/Cosmos/Redis.
