Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Solution Engineer to lead technical pre-sales efforts across cloud platforms, designing and presenting architectures for customers. You will collaborate with sales, post-sales, and product teams to drive adoption of the Databricks Unified Analytics Platform and related open-source projects.

You will advise on Data Engineering, Data Science, and ML projects, travel to client sites in the region, and help build references and proofs of concept to demonstrate value.»

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, or consulting role.
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Comfortable programming in at least one of: Python, Scala, Java, SQL, or R.
• Experience supporting Public Sector clients.
• Have built solutions with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Expertise in Data Engineering technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
• Data Warehousing (SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS).
• Data Science and ML technologies (pandas, scikit-learn, HPO).
• Degree in a quantitative discipline (CS, Applied Math, OR).
• Secret security clearance or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to help customers understand how Databricks can help solve their business problems.
• Provide technical leadership for customers to evaluate and adopt Databricks.
• Consult on big data architecture, implement proofs of concept for strategic customer projects, data science and ML projects, and validate integrations with cloud services and other 3rd party applications.
• Build and present reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications for customers.
• Become an expert in Databricks open-source projects (Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow) and promote them across developer communities.
