Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Solution Engineer to drive customer success across the Databricks Unified Analytics Platform. You will collaborate with customers, product and post-sales teams to design architectures, demonstrate value, and deliver implementation guidance using Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow.

You will advocate Databricks open-source projects, engage in technical leadership, and travel to customer sites as needed to build trusted advisor relationships.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual requirements for U.S. Public Sector customers.
• 5+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, or consulting role.
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Comfortable programming in Python and SQL.
• Experience supporting Public Sector clients.
• Have built solutions with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Expertise in at least one of the following: Data Engineering (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka); Data Warehousing (SQL); Data Science/ML (pandas, scikit-learn).
• Desired: Degree in a quantitative discipline (CS, Applied Mathematics, OR).

Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to help customers understand how Databricks can help solve their business problems.
• Provide technical leadership for customers to evaluate and adopt Databricks.
• Consult on big data architecture, implement proofs of concept, data science/ML projects, and validate cloud integrations.
• Build and present reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications for customers.
• Promote Databricks open-source projects across developer communities via meetups, conferences, and webinars.
• Travel to customers in your region.
