Job summary

Databricks is seeking Solutions Architects to join the Field Engineering team within our Financial Services group. This customer-facing role focuses on designing architectures, evaluating the Databricks Platform, and guiding customers through implementation to achieve measurable business outcomes.

You will partner with sales, lead technical discussions, and promote open source projects while traveling to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role with big-data tech.
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.
• Experience with global system integrators or financial services tech a plus.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Spark, Hadoop, Kafka.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to help customers understand Databricks' value.
• Provide technical leadership for customers to evaluate and adopt Databricks.
• Consult on big data architecture and run proof-of-concepts.
• Build and present reference architectures and how-tos.
• Promote open source projects like Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Unity Catalog.
• Travel to meet with customers in your territory.
