Job summary

Premier, Inc. in the United States seeks a Senior Data Scientist to advise on structured and unstructured analytic models, driving quality, reusability, and impact across the organization.

You will collaborate with Data Science leadership, Product Management, and Development to design and deploy ML algorithms and predictive models, translate prototypes into scalable products, and mentor teammates. Remote work with 1–20% travel within the US; proficiency in R or Python and healthcare data

Qualifications

• 4+ years of work experience in data science.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Experience with probabilistic and predictive models (regression, t/z-tests, Naive Bayes, Monte Carlo).
• Clinical data experience with UB and 1500 claims, HL7, CDA, EHR, etc. and standard healthcare taxonomies.
• Advanced SQL and data querying; experience with Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Netezza.
• Healthcare research experience with large patient data sets.
• Experience in statistical methodology, design/development, data analytics, and standardization.
• Willingness to travel 1–20% and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement ML algorithms and statistical models.
• Lead design of complex data solutions with Premier methodology.
• Translate prototypes into scalable products with guidelines for large-scale deployment.
• Develop predictive models and advanced algorithms for value extraction from data.
• Provide data insights and mentoring to colleagues and management.
