Job summary

Chime is seeking a Sr. Data Scientist, Marketing (Referrals) to measure and optimize referral investments driving member acquisition and long-term value. You will forecast spend, evaluate incrementality, and design attribution across dual-sided incentives, partnering with the Referrals team.

The role requires advanced SQL and Python or R, Looker/Tableau dashboards, and strong communication to cross-functional leaders. Hybrid work and equity/bonus opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in referral programs and in marketing, growth, or product analytics.
• Experience with marketing campaign planning and sizing: translating goals into spend, volume and ROI.
• Forecasting experience for marketing/growth channels and communicating forecast uncertainty.
• Strong experience designing and evaluating incrementality tests: geo experiments and holdouts.
• Knowledge of causal inference methods including experiment design and holdout analysis.
• Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in Python or R for analysis and modeling.
• Experience building dashboards (Looker/Tableau) for decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Referrals to define KPIs and measurement frameworks across campaigns and audiences.
• Size and scope referral campaigns in partnership with marketing, product and finance: translate goals into spend, volume and ROI projections.
• Build and maintain forecasting models for the referral channel and LTV under different spend scenarios.
• Develop attribution approaches that reconcile platform performance with observed behavior.
• Design and analyze geo experiments, holdouts, and platform lift studies.
• Build and maintain dashboards showing spend, CAC, funnel conversion and downstream LTV by campaign.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to improve tracking, data quality, and pipelines.
• Translate analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for cross-functional leadership.
