Job summary

TransUnion is seeking a Data Scientist in the Financial Services Consulting team. The role reports to a Senior Manager of Data Science & Analytics and blends analytic work with client-facing engagements in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities include building predictive risk models and BI solutions for Fintechs, banks, and lenders, and mentoring junior colleagues while collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in statistics, applied mathematics, financial mathematics, engineering, OR operations research or another quantitative field.
• At least 1 year of analytical experience in Financial Services or related industry.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills with data-informed solutions.
• Versatile interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to travel 10%-20% based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to drive new business initiatives and deliver value-added product propositions in US financial services.
• Lead analytical client engagements using descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analyses across the consumer lending lifecycle.
• Design and write programs for data extraction, segmentation and analysis using R, Python, and SQL.
• Deliver analytic insights and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders and executives.
• Develop proposals, sales presentations, and promotional collateral for integrated customer solutions.
