Job summary

TransUnion in Chicago is seeking a Data Scientist for the Financial Services Consulting team. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver analytics-driven value for US financial services clients, developing predictive risk models and business intelligence solutions.

You will write programs for data extraction, segmentation and statistical analysis using R, Python and SQL, and present insights to executives.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in statistics, applied mathematics, financial mathematics, engineering, operations research, or another highly quantitative field.
• Analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to translate data into solutions.
• Ability to travel approximately 10–20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytic client engagements involving descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis for the consumer lending portfolio lifecycle.
• Design and write programs for data extraction, segmentation and statistical analysis using R, Python, and SQL.
• Deliver analytic insights and recommendations in succinct presentations for internal and external customers and executives.
• Develop project proposals, sales presentations, and collateral to enable adoption of analytic products and services.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior colleagues.
