Job summary

Chime is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for Finance & Strategy in San Francisco. You will serve as the analytics partner to Investor Relations and Corporate Strategy, building a holistic view of performance and turning data into clear narratives for earnings materials and disclosures.

You will work cross-functionally across Finance, Product, Marketing, Risk, and Operations, delivering high-visibility analyses with precision and speed while developing durable data models and reports.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience delivering analyses for an executive audience.
• Experience in management consulting, investment banking, or similar analytical roles.
• Strong financial acumen, familiarity with public company reporting and KPIs.
• Attention to detail and high accuracy under pressure.
• Ability to move quickly with priorities and ambiguity.
• Expert-level SQL and proficiency in Python for analysis.
• Experience building data models in dbt and fluency with AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Build a company-wide view of performance by linking growth, engagement, and usage to key financial metrics.
• Partner with Investor Relations to translate data into earnings materials and disclosures.
• Be an arbiter of truth—ensure consistent, well-defined externally reported metrics.
• Explain metric movements, identify trends, and craft clear narratives for senior leaders.
• Collaborate with Corporate Strategy on high-visibility projects with strategic impact.
• Work with Finance, Product, Marketing, Risk, Operations and other analytics teams to measure performance across the business.
• Deliver high-stakes analyses within tight timelines (earnings cycles).
• Develop reusable data models and reporting to answer recurring questions.
