Job summary

CHIME is seeking an experienced Credit Risk Data Scientist to own the strategy for new-to-Chime applicants, from Instant Loans to future unsecured products. You will partner with product, growth, data engineering, ML, and analytics teams to develop risk policies and monitor portfolio performance.

The role requires strong SQL/Python skills, a Master’s in a quantitative field, and 7+ years in financial services.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative field is required.
• 7+ years of analytical or data science experience in Financial Services.
• 4+ years of risk management for unsecured credit products.
• Strong SQL and Python, plus experience with Looker or BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead credit strategy for new-to-Chime applicants across the lifecycle.
• Develop and evolve credit policies (pre-screen, direct mail, etc.).
• Design acquisition, pricing, line management, repayment, and collections strategies.
• Collaborate with DSML and cross-functional teams to monitor risk and productionize models.
