Job summary

Washington State Health Care Authority seeks a Data Science and Informatics Specialist 3 to lead behavioral health data projects, craft analytics, and drive data-driven policy insights. You will supervise a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality data products.

The role focuses on data infrastructure, analytics, reporting, and advance visualization, with telework eligibility and ongoing collaboration with the SPI division in Olympia.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Experience with health care analytics or public health analytics.
• Proficiency in data visualization and analytics tools (SAS, R, SQL, Python).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of data analysts, scientists, informaticists, epidemiologists, and econometricians.
• Develop advanced analytics and data storytelling to support policy decisions.
• Lead data pipelines and infrastructure projects.
• Create interactive visualizations using SAS, R, Power BI, Tableau, and Excel pivot tables.
• Ensure compliance with SAMHSA block grant reporting requirements.
