Job summary

State of Washington seeks a Data Science and Informatics Specialist 2 to build data handling programs in support of the 340B Drug Pricing Program. You will develop data submission guides, validate data, and communicate with internal and external data submitters.

The role uses statistics, programming, and analytics to extract knowledge from health care data, creating actionable insights for policy decisions. Telework is eligible; on-site visits to Olympia required on occasion.

Qualifications

• Master's/PhD or equivalent in a quantitative field
• Bachelor's with 2+ years health-care data science experience
• Associate with 4+ years data work experience
• Six years of data science/informatics experience in health care

Responsibilities

• Design and develop health care reporting and visualizations for the 340B program.
• Write data code/query scripts using SQL, R, SAS, M code, and/or Python.
• Develop algorithms, data models, and automate processing tasks.
• Combine multiple data sources (claims, records, surveys) for analytics.
• Develop data science modeling and statistical analysis for program support.
• Apply quantitative methods to analyze health care data and generate insights.
• Communicate findings to policymakers and staff clearly.
