Job summary

PEMCO in the Seattle area is seeking a Senior Data Scientist - Actuarial to conduct complex actuarial and predictive analyses supporting product development, rating, reserving and system changes.

You will build large-scale models, write SQL queries, mentor teammates, and collaborate across Product and Actuarial teams while upholding PEMCO's values and commitment to Worry Less and Live More.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. in actuarial science, math, statistics or related field.
• 6+ years actuarial and predictive modeling experience.
• 3+ years in property & casualty insurance.
• MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Proficiency in Python, R, SAS and/or SQL.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex actuarial and product development analyses.
• Develop large-scale predictive models and multivariate analyses.
• Create queries and tools for rates, pricing strategies and financial analysis.
• Collaborate with product managers and actuaries on strategic decisions.
• Document system workflows and business processes.
• Mentor junior team members and share best practices.
• Demonstrate PEMCO values and ethics.
• Support PEMCO brand and talent recruitment.
• Other duties as assigned.
