Job summary

PEMCO is seeking a Senior Data Scientist - Actuarial to conduct complex actuarial analyses, build predictive models, and support product development, pricing and reserving. You will create data-driven tools, collaborate with Product and other teams, and mentor junior staff while upholding PEMCO's ethics and values.

Location requires residency in listed states with occasional travel to Seattle headquarters. Ideal candidates have 6+ years in actuarial or predictive modeling, strong SQL, Python, R

Qualifications

• S. degree or equivalent work experience in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field

Responsibilities

• Independently perform complex analytical support for actuarial and product development
• Develop large-scale predictive modeling and multivariate analysis
• Create queries and tools to assist the development and implementation of rates, rating plans, pricing strategies and financial analysis
• Collaborate with Product Team and other business units to provide business solutions
• Develop and document system workflows and business processes
• Pioneer best practice in building tools and processes to create efficiencies
• Mentor less experienced members, sharing best practices
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with PEMCO's policies, values, code of ethics and business conduct
