Job summary

Morgan Business Consulting (MBC) is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to provide data analytics support for a U.S. Navy program office in the Arlington, VA area.

The role requires deep expertise in data analytics, data mining, NLP, and ML to transform large data sets into actionable insights. The position involves reporting findings, developing briefing materials, coordinating data calls, and traveling domestically and internationally to support projects.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience providing data analytics support to U.S. Navy program offices.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
• Eligibility to obtain a DOD SECRET security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in math, science, engineering, or related field from a U.S. accredited institution.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and multitasking ability.
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally using a card for expenses.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement analytics techniques or applications to transform raw data into meaningful information.
• Apply data mining, NLP, and machine learning to analyze large structured and unstructured datasets.
• Create dynamic data reports to visualize and communicate findings.
• Plan internal and external engagements, including meetings, conferences, and events.
• Assist in drafting briefing materials in line with Navy Correspondence Manual.
• Coordinate data calls with stakeholders and report findings to government leadership.
• Identify operational deficiencies, recommend improvements, and coordinate implementation.
• Transcribe meeting minutes and close action items.
• Schedule government meetings, arrange travel, and support conference logistics.
• Attend program reviews, compile presentations and communications as required.
• Travel domestically and internationally to support MBC and client sites; obtain required certifications and security clearances.

What You’ll Do

The Senior Data Scientist will provide data analytics support to a U.S. Navy program office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
• Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
• Visualize, interpret, and report data findings by creating dynamic data reports.
• Plan internal and external engagements, including meetings, conferences, and events.
• Assist in the development of briefing material and drafting documents in accordance with Navy Correspondence Manual guidelines.
• Coordinate, monitor, and execute data calls to gather inputs from both internal and external stakeholders. Consolidate and communicate information from data calls to government leadership for further action.
• Evaluate operational deficiencies, recommend improvements, and coordinate their implementation
• Transcribe and summarize meeting minutes and notes and assist in the preparation and closure of action items
• Assist in the scheduling of appointments in support of Government customer, the coordination of arrangements for meetings and conferences, and the arrangement of travel reservations and accommodations
• Attend meetings and program reviews, assist with compiling presentations, written materials, and/or electronic communications as required
• Travel domestically and internationally, provide in-person support at MBC and client sites, and obtain and maintain professional certifications and security clearances as required by MBC and/or MBC’s clients.
