Hiscox USA is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join the US Data Engineering practice in Atlanta and other key cities. You will lead automation-focused quality efforts, shift-left on requirements, and act as the voice of quality in the development process.

You will collaborate with data engineers, product owners, and quality engineers to ensure test coverage is coherent and comprehensive, delivering high-quality data applications at velocity.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality engineering with an automation-first mindset.
• Ability to translate stakeholder needs into testable requirements.
• Proficient in Python and modern test automation.
• Strong SQL skills; familiar with dbt and cloud data lakehouse concepts.

Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders early to understand data application requirements.
• Convert needs into unambiguous, testable acceptance criteria.
• Develop automated tests to ensure code meets requirements and regression is avoided.
• Build and improve automation frameworks for effective testing.
• Collaborate with data engineers to deliver quality code and with peers to ensure coherent test coverage.
• Participate in code reviews with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Balance meticulous attention to detail with a risk-based approach for high-velocity delivery.
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership in a safe environment.
