Job summary

Hiscox USA is seeking a Lead Analytics Engineer to advance US Data Engineering practices, bridge business and tech execution, and drive value by making data accessible for users. You will lead innovation labs, oversee L&D content for US Data, and design training programs to scale retained knowledge across the team.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in data, strong SQL and BI skills, and experience with cloud data platforms, data governance, and data storytelling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in data management, analytics, solution architecture, cloud platforms, data warehousing/lakehouse concepts, data modeling, and/or data engineering.
• Leadership in strategic data initiatives, innovation environments, and cross-functional project management.
• Experience with data as a product and BI concepts (data governance, quality, lineage, catalog, visualization, storytelling).
• Expertise in self-service analytics and visualization (Power BI).
• Strong SQL, data modeling/warehousing, and AI applied experience (Claude, Copilot, etc.).
• Advanced knowledge of data integration tools (DBT, SSIS) and frameworks (ETL/ELT/API/streaming).
• Experience with Agile frameworks and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead data and analytics technologist for multiple cross-functional teams.
• Own and measure the effective use of analytics data by team members and stakeholders.
• Establish and manage innovation labs to pilot new data products and tools.
• Research emerging data trends to support business objectives.
• Create and curate US Data L&D content in Learning Hub and Data Marketplace.
• Design training plans including cross-skilling for data teams.
• Coach and mentor data professionals and engineers.
