Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement and maintain our data protection infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments. You will configure DLP and DSPM controls, de-identification, and policy tuning while collaborating with senior engineers to drive security posture improvements.

The role requires strong scripting (PowerShell, Python), and hands-on engineering across Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

5+ years of Data Loss Prevention experience.
5+ years in Information Security and Systems Analysis.
3+ years with two or more modern programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.).
3+ years designing and supporting cloud services (GCP, AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of HITRUST CSF, NIST, PCI, HIPAA, HITECH, ISO 27001/2, ITIL.

Responsibilities

Implement and maintain data protection infrastructure across platforms.
Collaborate on data protection solutions for on‑premises and cloud environments.
Configure and maintain data protection policies and DSPM/DLP controls.
Troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis.
Contribute to projects with testing, implementation, and documentation.
Develop scripts to improve deployment and maintenance of protection software.
