Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Data Protection Engineer to implement, maintain, and support data protection infrastructure and applications. You will work with senior engineers to deploy DLP/DSPM solutions across on‑prem and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure), configure policies, and troubleshoot incidents.

The role emphasizes scripting (PowerShell, Python) to improve efficiency, collaborations, and staying current with evolving data security standards and HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with Data Loss Prevention
• 5 years of experience with Information Security and Systems Analysis
• 5 years of experience with deploying and maintaining infrastructure for DLP software
• 5 years of experience with creating and managing DLP policies
• 3 years of experience with at least two modern programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell)
• 3 years of experience with architectural support to cloud providers (GCP, AWS or Azure)
• Advanced certification in cloud providers (GCP/AWS/Azure)
• Bachelor's degree in Information Security/Information Systems/Information Assurance/CS or related field
• Master's degree in Information Security/Information Systems/Information Assurance/CS or related field

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain components of the organization's data protection infrastructure across different platforms and vendors.
• Collaborate on the design and implementation of data protection solutions in on-prem and cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Configure and maintain data protection policies across platforms, including sensitive info types and exception lists.
• Troubleshoot data protection incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Contribute to projects with testing, implementation and documentation; participate in meetings.
• Use PowerShell, Python to improve deployment efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members to expand data protection knowledge.
• Stay current with data protection technologies and compliance requirements.
