Job summary

Fuze Health in the United States is hiring a Senior Manager of Data Engineering to lead the strategy, architecture, and delivery of the data platform that powers analytics, product, and ML initiatives. You will mentor engineers, define standards, and align data work with business goals.

You will own ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and serving layers, ensuring reliable, well-governed data assets with strong observability and compliance. A background in healthcare data is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering or related data infrastructure roles.
• 5+ years leading and scaling technical teams.
• Experience architecting and scaling cloud-based data platforms with ingestion, orchestration, data warehouses, transformation frameworks, and semantic serving layers.
• Strong data modeling, ELT, and production-grade pipeline orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Proven track record owning platform reliability, including defining SLAs, implementing observability and data quality frameworks, and leading incident response and postmortems for production data systems.
• Experience operating in high-growth, fast-paced technology organizations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Data Engineers, fostering ownership and excellence.
• Define and execute the long-term vision for Alto’s data platform, aligning with strategy and roadmaps.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Finance, and Enterprise teams to deliver high-impact data initiatives.
• Establish career paths, performance standards, and hiring plans to scale the team.
• Own design and evolution of data architecture, including ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving layers.
• Ensure data pipelines are reliable, observable, and compliant with governance standards.
