Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Lead Analyst, Data Platform Engineering to manage Snowflake and data pipelines across the enterprise. You will configure security, optimize performance, manage multi-account architecture, and enable AI copilots to power BI/AI workloads.

You will design curated data layers, maintain semantic views, and partner with source teams to onboard new data, document lineage, and ensure governance. Strong SQL and ETL/ELT experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (Master's preferred).
• 5+ years in database/platform administration or data engineering.
• 1+ years leading complex projects.
• Hands-on experience with multi-account Snowflake architecture.
• Strong SQL and data ingestion/ETL/ELT skills.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM enablement tools such as Claude and ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Administrate Snowflake platform: users, roles, warehouses, RBAC/RLS/CLS, security policies.
• Monitor health, performance, and cost; tune workloads to meet SLAs.
• Audit and remediate security issues.
• Maintain availability across Snowflake accounts and partner platforms.
• Activate and test Snowflake Private Preview features; document findings.
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using CDC, API-based ingestion, and batch/file loads.
• Develop and maintain transformation workflows across Foundation, Processed, and Curated layers.
• Monitor pipelines; troubleshoot failures and data quality issues.
• Onboard new data sources and define ingestion standards; document lineage and design.
• Enable AI copilots and agents (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) across analytics teams; configure agents and integrations.
• Create curated data sets and semantic views to support dashboards and AI consumption layers.
• Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to ensure self-service readiness; ensure production readiness.
