Job summary

DRW Holdings, LLC is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate data platform services for Traders and researchers. You will own components, solve problems with users, and contribute to metadata governance.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural improvements, and ensure scalable, observable systems across batch and streaming workloads. Chicago-based, fast-paced trading environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building data-intensive distributed systems.
• Expertise in Java and/or Python with production software delivery.
• Experience deploying and operating managed data/infrastructure services.
• Ownership of projects from design through deployment.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems trade-offs and fault tolerance.
• Production experience with batch and streaming systems.
• Experience with Flink, Spark, or ClickHouse.
• Exposure to Kafka, Iceberg/Delta Lake, and data cataloging tools.
• Familiarity with Arrow, Parquet, Protobuf/Avro formats.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate managed data platform services.
• Own technical designs and lead delivery from requirements to deployment.
• Automate provisioning, upgrades, and monitoring of services.
• Integrate metadata management and data governance tooling.
• Collaborate with users to diagnose issues and improve services.
• Improve reliability via observability and capacity planning.
• Lead design/code reviews and document trade-offs.
• Mentor engineers to promote maintainable code and testing.
