DRW is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for its Unified Platform to design, build, and operate data platform services used by Traders, researchers, and back-office teams. You will own end-to-end delivery of managed services, drive metadata management capabilities, and ensure secure, scalable data processing in a fast-paced trading environment.

You will collaborate across teams to improve reliability, implement governance, and mentor engineers while advancing data catalogs, lineage, and quality

Formación

• 7+ years of experience building data-intensive distributed systems.
• Proven ability to deliver production quality software in Java and/or Python.
• Strong familiarity with SQL, Bash and Linux environments.
• Ownership of engineering projects from design through deployment and operation.
• Understanding of distributed systems trade-offs: fault tolerance, concurrency, partitioning, recovery.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and operate managed data platform services for storage, batch/streaming processing, and orchestration.
• Own design decisions and lead delivery from requirements to deployment and support.
• Automate provisioning, upgrades, and monitoring to reduce manual operations.
• Integrate metadata management tools, data catalogs, and lineage tracking for discoverability.
• Implement schema governance, data quality checks, access controls, and usage tracking.
• Work with users to diagnose issues and improve service performance.
• Improve reliability and performance via observability and capacity planning; participate in on-call incidents.
• Deliver platform upgrades and migrations with validation and compatibility checks.
• Lead design/code reviews and document architectural trade-offs.
• Mentor junior engineers to promote maintainable code and testing practices.
