Job summary

DRW, a Chicago-based trading firm, seeks a data engineering professional to build and maintain scalable data infrastructure supporting trading activities. You will own data products end-to-end, collaborating with traders and researchers to deliver robust pipelines and fast APIs.

You will design batch and real-time systems, ensure data quality, and operate in a high-throughput environment. A strong foundation in multiple languages and modern data stacks is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Python, Java, and/or C++, across multiple languages.
• Experience working directly with end customers to scope and deliver production systems in fast-moving environments.
• Ability to dive deep into complex problems, identify risks early, and minimize complexity.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with stakeholders and engineers.
• Experience in the financial markets, delta one, store of value, or FICC options trading.
• Experience with Linux-based, high-throughput, low-latency software systems.
• Experience with pipeline orchestration frameworks (Airflow, Dagster).
• Experience with streaming platforms (Kafka) and data lake platforms (Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg) and relational databases.
• Bachelor or advanced degree in CS, Math, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions for trading activities.
• Take full ownership of data products from concept to production.
• Design, build, and maintain batch and real-time time-series data systems.
• Develop APIs and data access methods for fast historical and live data retrieval.
• Provide on-call support as needed.
