Job summary

ZoomInfo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Data Acquisition team to design, build, and operate backend data pipelines and data processing systems. The role focuses on production-grade Java services, scalable ETL/ELT workflows, and cross‑functional collaboration across data platforms.

You’ll work with Beam, Airflow, Spark, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Kafka to ensure data quality, reliability, and cost efficiency while handling large volumes of data in a cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of professional software engineering with backend/data engineering focus.
• Experience building and operating production data pipelines at scale.
• Deep proficiency with Java and object‑oriented design.
• Hands-on with data processing/orchestration tech such as Beam, Airflow, Spark, Dataflow/DataProc.
• Strong experience with streaming systems like Kafka, Pub/Sub.
• Knowledge of batch/stream processing, data modeling, schema evolution, data quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate large‑scale data acquisition pipelines ingesting, validating, transforming, enriching, and storing data.
• Architect ETL/ELT workflows for batch, streaming, and event‑driven processing.
• Develop production Java services for ingestion, orchestration, enrichment, deduplication, and delivery.
• Build and improve systems using Airflow, Beam, Spark, Dataflow, DataProc, Kafka, Pub/Sub.
• Define schema evolution, data contracts, validation, backfills, replayability, and idempotent processing.
• Improve reliability, performance, scalability, and cost across data pipelines and services.
• Implement observability, monitoring, and alerting for pipeline health and data quality.
• Collaborate with product/data science/platform teams to deliver production‑ready systems.
• Contribute to technical designs and modernization efforts across Data Acquisition.
