Job summary

ZoomInfo is seeking a Software Engineer III on the Data Acquisition team to build backend data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and scalable data processing systems. You will work with Java-based services, batch/streaming architectures, and cloud infrastructure to deliver high-quality data at scale.

The role emphasizes production-grade engineering practices, observability, and collaboration with product and data teams to drive next-generation data acquisition technologies.

Qualifications

• Data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, or data processing systems experience.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Java proficiency and OO design.
• Hands-on experience with data processing/orchestration tech such as Apache Beam, Airflow, Spark, Dataflow, DataProc.
• Experience with streaming tech like Kafka or Pub/Sub.
• Understanding of batch and streaming processing, data modeling, and quality practices.
• Backend services, APIs, or distributed systems in production.
• Experience with at least one cloud provider, preferably GCP.
• Familiarity with BigQuery, GCS, Dataflow, Pub/Sub.
• SQL and large-scale storage/query systems; monitoring and logging.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend data pipelines ingesting high-volume data from multiple sources.
• Develop ETL/ELT workflows using Airflow, Beam, Dataflow, Spark, or Pub/Sub.
• Implement features in Java-based services for data acquisition at scale.
• Work with batch and streaming architectures for real-time data flows.
• Improve data quality via schema validation, deduplication, enrichment, monitoring.
• Contribute to observability and collaborate with product and data teams.
• Help design and execute the roadmap for next-generation data acquisition tech.
