Job summary

Empower Retirement, LLC is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend data pipelines and ETL solutions that support analytics and downstream applications. You will work across the development lifecycle with SQL, Python, Spark, SAP BODS, AWS and Snowflake, delivering reliable data workflows and robust data services.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
10+ years of software development experience, backend or data engineering.
Strong SQL skills with large datasets.
Hands-on with AWS, Snowflake, SQL, ETL, Spark, Python, SAP BODS.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and best practices.
Problem-solving and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

Lead design and development of significant software features or projects.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Design, build, and maintain backend data workflows using Python and SQL.
Develop and optimize data processing solutions using AWS and Snowflake.
Implement and support CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
Collaborate with data engineers, architects, product owners, and business partners to translate requirements into tasks.
