Job summary

Vivint Smart Home in Seattle, WA is hiring a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join the central analytics team. You will design, develop, and maintain core data pipelines and warehouse models powering reporting and product decisions.

Collaborating across product, engineering, and business, you will own data quality end-to-end, implement instrumentation, build scalable data structures, and create internal tools, including AI-driven automation, to accelerate trusted data for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience building and owning production data pipelines.
• Fluent in SQL and Python for data pipelines.
• Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow) and transformation frameworks (dbt).
• Understand data modeling and warehousing best practices for scalable structures.
• Experience partnering with engineering on instrumentation, schema design, and data capture.
• Highly analytical with ability to tackle ambiguous data problems.
• Able to translate between technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, and maintenance of core data pipelines and warehouse models.
• Partner with engineering to define instrumentation and event tracking.
• Build and optimize data models turning unstructured data into clean datasets.
• Own data quality end-to-end, including validation and monitoring.
• Collaborate with analysts, product managers, and leaders to meet reporting needs.
• Build internal tools and automation, including AI and scripting, to reduce manual reporting.
• Support self-serve analytics with clean datasets and a consistent metrics layer.
• Contribute to evolution of analytics platform, data warehouse, and tooling.
