Job summary

Vivint Smart Home, an NRG Energy owned company, is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to design, develop and scale data pipelines powering product analytics. You will collaborate across engineering, data, and business teams to deliver trusted datasets and reliable metrics that inform product decisions.

You will work in a hybrid in-office setting in Seattle initially, with responsibilities spanning data warehousing, instrumentation, and self-serve analytics, driving data quality and

Qualifications

• Experience building and owning production data pipelines.
• Fluent in SQL and Python; experience with orchestration tools (Airflow) and transformation (dbt).
• Understanding of data modeling and warehousing best practices; scalable data structures.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, and maintenance of core data pipelines and warehouse models.
• Partner with engineering to define instrumentation and event tracking.
• Build and optimize data models turning unstructured data into clean datasets for reporting.
• Own data quality end-to-end with monitoring and alerting.
• Collaborate with analysts, product managers, and leaders to translate needs into data models.
• Develop internal tools/automation including AI to reduce manual reporting.
• Support self-serve analytics with clean datasets and a stable metrics layer.
• Contribute to evolving analytics platform, data warehouse, orchestration, and tooling.
