Job summary

Vivint Smart Home is hiring a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join the central analytics team within our product organization. You will own the data pipelines, models, and metrics layer powering dashboards, analyses, and product decisions.

This role sits at the center of product, engineering, and data, and requires turning raw data into reliable datasets while partnering with analysts, product managers, and leaders to meet reporting needs. Hybrid Seattle-based role.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building production data pipelines.
• Fluent in SQL and Python for data engineering tasks.
• Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow) and transformation frameworks (dbt).
• Understanding of data modeling and warehousing best practices.
• Partner with engineering on instrumentation and data capture.
• Able to translate analytic needs into scalable data structures.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, and maintenance of core data pipelines and warehouse models.
• Collaborate with engineering to define instrumentation and ensure reliable data capture.
• Build and optimize data models for scalable reporting and analysis.
• Own data quality end-to-end including validation and monitoring.
• Partner with analysts and product managers to translate needs into data models.
• Develop internal tools and automation, including AI-assisted reporting.
• Support self-serve analytics with well-documented datasets and metrics.
