Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) is seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst to lead core data governance initiatives and mature CLA’s data governance program. You will design policies, enforce standards, and partner with business and technical leaders to promote responsible data use.

Qualifications

• 4 or more years of relevant experience in data governance or data management.
• Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Information Management or Computer Science is preferred.
• Strong understanding of data governance principles, policies, standards, and KPIs/OKRs; conformance testing.
• Working fluency with DAMA-DMBOK and knowledge of GDPR/CCPA privacy regulations.
• Ability to facilitate cross-functional working sessions and communicate with leaders, data stewards, SMEs, custodians, and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and enhancement of enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and processes.
• Identify gaps in data governance processes and drive continuous improvement.
• Define governance requirements for enterprise metadata including terms, definitions, lineage, ownership, and accountability.
• Lead data governance intake and prioritization with impact assessments for the Data Governance Council.
• Document decisions and escalate unresolved issues from cross-functional data discussions.
• Own the lifecycle of data governance artifacts including drafting, review, and versioning.
• Partner with Compliance, Security, Legal, and other stakeholders to support governance, risk, data quality, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop training and communications to strengthen data governance adoption and literacy across the organization.
