Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. seeks a Senior Manager to lead a growing team of data engineers responsible for pipelines, data models and curated datasets. You will define the technical vision, own delivery from start to finish, and ensure quality, lineage and compliance across multiple data domains while partnering with BI, SDE and business stakeholders.

You will shape architectural direction, manage on-call and reliability metrics, and drive hiring to scale the org as AWS data needs grow.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has managed data engineering teams at scale and hands-on data engineering experience.
• Balance strategy with urgent delivery and drive high standards.
• Ability to lead across multiple VP-level stakeholders and cross-team dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead and develop a high-performing data engineering team; own hiring, onboarding and growth.
• Set the team's technical vision and delivery roadmap with senior engineers and translate goals into milestones.
• Own delivery of data solutions across 3–5 data domains and hundreds of pipelines.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, governance and security across datasets and models.
• Drive operational excellence: on-call, SLAs, incident response and reliability metrics.
• Partner with BI, Applied Science and SDE teams; align work with business needs.
• Shape architecture modernization and adoption of AI/ML where valuable.
