Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer to own major portions of the data architecture and deliver stable, performant data pipelines.

You will design data contracts, build ingestion flows, and deliver analytical models that increase self-service access to datasets across AWS services. The role emphasizes proficiency in SQL, ETL/ELT, and large-scale data processing with AWS tools such as Redshift, Glue, EMR, and Lake Formation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• 3+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using ETL/ELT processes.
• 3+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for BI analytics using SQL.
• 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
• 3+ years of OLAP, data modeling experience.
• Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and management to collect requirements and describe data modeling decisions.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve data quality issues in processing tools and ensure best practices in pipelines you design.
• Build and optimize logical data models and data pipelines for difficult datasets with security, scalability, and cost in mind.
• Make technical trade-offs at the dataset level, balancing short-term and long-term needs.
• Produce high-quality, secure, maintainable code that is easy to understand.
• Contribute to data architecture decisions and manage resources for stability and performance.
• Break down projects into tasks and collaborate effectively with peers.
