Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer in data engineering within Consumer & Community Banking Risk Technology. You will lead a Scrum team, design scalable data utilities, and drive architectural direction across real-time and batch platforms on AWS, Databricks, and Snowflake.

You will write production code daily, mentor engineers, and ensure high-quality delivery with strong governance, security, and AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on programming in Java, Python, and Scala.
• Experience building reusable frameworks and platforms used by multiple teams.
• Proven ability delivering high-throughput real-time systems and large Spark workloads.
• Extensive AWS and Databricks experience including Unity Catalog and Delta Lake.
• Production Snowflake experience in data platforms.
• Kafka, Cassandra, and NoSQL data streaming knowledge.
• Experience with AI-enabled engineering delivery and data sensitivity.
• Experience with AI/ML systems and core model families.
• Mastery of Agile/Scrum delivery in practice.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver reusable data frameworks and platforms for real-time and batch processing.
• Write production code daily and lead by example in design quality and testing.
• Lead a Scrum team, decompose problems, and unblock engineers without direct reporting lines.
• Mentor engineers and raise code-review standards across the team.
• Provide data governance, quality, profiling, and lineage recommendations.
• Leverage AI capabilities to accelerate design, implementation, and documentation.
• Design data collection, storage, access, and analytics across AWS, Databricks, and Snowflake.
• Build streaming components with Kafka and Cassandra for real-time use cases.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and model deployment teams on data requirements.
• Promote reuse-first practices ensuring traceability and resiliency.
• Present designs and data insights to stakeholders with clear visuals.
