Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Senior Data Engineer — Translational Data Products to build end-to-end data products and pipelines. You will own data models, map sources to targets, and ensure governance, quality, and AI-readiness across datasets used by translational medicine teams.

You will collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and biomarker stakeholders, delivering robust, test-driven data ecosystems and deploying on cloud infrastructure in a rigorous enterprise setting.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline along with 4+ yrs of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated experience building production data pipelines (ETL/ELT) at scale.
• Very strong SQL — complex joins, window functions, performance tuning.
• Python for data engineering and data science.
• AWS experience — S3, IAM, Glue, Lambda, ECS and Fargate.
• Containerized service deployment — Docker on ECS/Fargate with IaC.
• CloudOps / DevOps practice: monitoring, incident response.
• GitHub fluency: branching, pull requests, code review, and CI/CD.
• Test-driven and validation-driven — unit tests and regression checks.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate and own data products and pipelines on Databricks and AWS.
• Unlock data access with governance and data owners.
• Translate business questions into data models and SQL mappings.
• Create robust data maps linking sources to targets (STTM).
• Ensure data quality with tests and validation in pipelines.
• Develop infrastructure as code and automated checks for reliability.
• Support ML workloads and model-ready datasets on NVIDIA clusters.
• Collaborate with ML engineers and translational medicine stakeholders.
