Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for Translational Data Products in a Tampa, FL area. You will own end-to-end data products, design and maintain ETL pipelines on Databricks and AWS, and collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and translational medicine stakeholders.

You'll enable AI-ready datasets while ensuring governance, quality, and security. The role emphasizes test-driven development, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and cloud-native infrastructure as code.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and 4+ years of experience.
• Experience building production data pipelines (ETL/ELT) at scale.
• Strong SQL skills with complex joins and window functions.
• Python for data engineering and data science.
• AWS experience with S3, IAM, Glue, Lambda, ECS and Fargate.
• Dockerized services and IaC (CDK/CloudFormation) with GitHub Actions.
• CloudOps/DevOps practices including monitoring and incident response.
• Hands-on life sciences data (clinical data, omics, biomarkers).

Responsibilities

• Build, operate, and own data products with ETL pipelines on Databricks and AWS.
• Unlock data access with governance, describing sources and mapping data to targets.
• Engage translational medicine stakeholders to translate questions into data designs.
• Translate business questions into data models and SQL queries.
• Implement test-driven validation and CI checks for data quality.
• Build robust infrastructure with CDK/CloudFormation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Support ML workloads and model-ready datasets on NVIDIA clusters.
• Collaborate in a GitHub-based development workflow.
