Job summary

Sedgwick is hiring a Sr. Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines across batch, streaming, and event-driven movements. You will work closely with cloud platforms and contribute to Snowflake-based architecture, data modeling, and performance optimization.

The role emphasizes building semantic layers, enabling AI, and guiding junior engineers and analysts in best engineering practices within a collaborative cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience building production-grade data pipelines.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-prem-to-cloud) using batch, streaming and event-driven patterns.
• Experience building or maintaining semantic layers and structuring data for downstream AI or NLP features.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming and event-driven data movement.
• Core developer for Snowflake data platform; supports performance, data modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Designs semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 NLU interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices for decentralized teams.
• Provides mentorship to one data engineer and guides analysts in engineering practices.
• Drives adoption of dbt and evaluates AWS/Azure cloud tools to optimize data flow.
